Noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) issues have increased significantly within the last few years, as in-car-entertainment systems become more common. Rear-seat entertainment systems become increasingly popular, not just in premium sedans, but also in family cars. To enjoy movies or games in the best possible way, the vibration behavior of the front seats, where the screens are mounted, needs to be improved. Often, visible vibrations of the unoccupied seat can lead to quality complaints from customers, or can even distract the driver. To meet all these requirements, Vibracoustic can custom design a special tuned mass damper for the seat structure. The damper can be adapted to the specific packaging needs of customers and reduces the vibration to an acceptable level.
